High-value convenience

Our goal is to put a smart, courteous team at your disposal to make your renovation an enjoyable, exciting experience. Our designers will work directly with you and with our contractor team to make sure that the transition from idea to execution is seamless. A dedicated project manager will ensure that your project goals are met efficiently, and a customer service team member will be available at all times to answer all your questions and handle any challenges that arise.

All this means that you will save time, your stress levels will be reduced, and the vision you have for your home will be carefully executed by a professional team dedicated to seeing that vision through.

Range of work

Stage Right has a team of full-time, on-staff designers and contractors skilled in all aspects of renovation from design, to carpentry, to electrical, to plumbing, to painting. We've done the work of finding what we believe to be the best and most reliable contractors in Toronto so you don't have to.

Stage Right does full-home renovations including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and outdoor decks. We are also resellers of flooring, carpeting, rugs, fixtures, window treatments, and furnishings, so when the renovation is done, we can help you complete your room with all the finishing touches (to find out more about our design services, click here). All that's left for you to do is enjoy it!

How it all works

Our initial meeting with you usually takes an hour to two hours and will include a designer, a contractor and a project manager. We will discuss your vision, give you ideas to consider, and will take measurements and photos.

A second meeting with the designer is most often required to confirm the requirements of the renovation. Following that, the project manager will produce a detailed project estimate for your review that breaks out all the projected costs by line item, and by labour and materials.

At this point, not all materials and finishes will necessarily have been selected, so initial estimates are inserted into the proposal. The goal of the initial estimate is to help you size the project financially, and to possibly prioritize the work that you would like to have done.

Once the estimate has been agreed upon, the project manager will develop a contract for the project that will detail the terms of the engagement, including your warranties (1 year on all materials and workmanship), and the payment schedule. The contract is also used to track change orders that may come up through the project. For instance, some material selection may follow the signing of the contract, and any change in costs would then be inserted into the contract via change order.

Our payment schedule typically involves a 30% deposit of the total value of the project to reserve a starting date, with weekly progress payments divided evenly over the duration of the project, and a 10% hold-back to ensure that everything is completed to your satisfaction.
